Blogging
Blogging is when combined with article marketing one of my preferred methods of generating leads and earning affiliate commissions. It is not a short term strategy but what it will do is build your online presence and give you authority and credibility when done correctly.
A good blog is one of the most valuable assets you can build for your business. It’s the “home” of your business online, a friendly place where people can learn about you, learn from you, and “marinate” a while before you ask them to join your list.
Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (Art blog), photographs (photo blog), videos (Video blogging), music (MP3 blog), and audio (podcasting). Micro blogging is another type of blogging, featuring very short posts.
The number of blogs active now is thought to be approaching 200 million so it is not something that is going to fade away anytime soon.
A blog is a website that allows you to quickly and easily add fresh content whenever you wish. Blogs can be about your personal life, your hobbies and interests, your business, or a combination of everything. Blogs are easy to publish (you only need to know how to type, easy to find (your audience can easily find your content), social (a great way to build a presence in the online community), viral (your blog posts can be virally distributed), and easy to link to and from.
There is really only one place to set up your Blog and that is wordpress.org NOT wordpress.com. The .org version is hosted by you and you control the content meaning you cannot have your site shut down if you violate a rule or two.
WordPress.org is certainly a little more difficult to set up but once you learn how to use it there is infinitely much more you can do to customize and use it.

Action Steps
1. Sign up for a wordpress.org account.
2. Set your site up. Remember to choose a url that will be easily recognized and brand you at the same time. There are many training series that will take you step by step through how to set up your Blog. The one I used can be accessed through MLSP which by the way has a whole series of tutorials included as part of the training platform anyway.
3. Start to write content, make video’s etc etc
4. Promote that content, once again you can find training that teaches you how to do this step by step at Carbon Copy Pro and many more places.
Tips and Tricks.

Don’t ever plagiarize.

Always be yourself; be original and don’t be afraid to share your opinions.

Avoid clichés.

Provide solid content, not just sale pitches. You should be sharing valuable thoughts, ideas, and opinions with your readers.
-
Engage in meaningful dialogue with your readers through comments. .

Not all of your posts need to be 100% grammatically polished or correct.

When sharing your opinions, consider framing your thoughts in such a way where you acknowledge that you COULD be wrong.
-
Check out other blogs. Examine other blogger’s styles and discover what you like and what you don’t like.
